If you cant build a root cellar how about geo thermal cooling. If I would have known ,I would have buried couple hundred ft. of coiled up poly pipe under my pool before they poured it.
I know one guy who has a water-cooled heat pump. I considered one for my country place, but the ground is too dry in the summer for good heat transfer.
