General observation from personal experience and mistakes: stop worrying so much about brew day and worry more about the weeks of fermentation that follow. Personally I spent my first few years of brewing wasting so much energy and focus on the process of brew day. Once the boil was finished I didn't spend equal thought and energy to what goes on in the following weeks. Thanks to this site and a new focus on proper temp and amount of yeast pitch I'm finally making beer I'm proud of. Unless you are going for an exact clone, the mashing/steeping/boiling is pretty hard to screw up. Proper fermentation is an entirely different beast.

I recognize this isn't ground breaking knowledge but I felt compelled to share. Thank you all for setting me straight and teaching me so much.

Cheers!
