GELATIN BEFORE CARBING ?

So my latest brew did not clear up like I wanted (2 weeks in fermenter 2 weeks carbing and 2 weeks conditioning in the keg) so I figured I would try finning with gelatin for the first time, heated water to 155, stirred in 1tsp of gelatin and poured it in the keg, omg it was like a high school science project, soooooo much foam!!! Capped the keg purged the head space and let it sit for 30 hrs. My beer is maybe a touch more clear but it is definitely flat. Was I supposed to do this before I carbed it? Nothing i read said so. Thought it would clear up way more than it did

Yes, before you carb. I add to the fermentor after fermentation is complete. 3 days after adding gelatin, I keg.

Adding to a COLD fermentor works much faster than at room temperature.
 
So it being carbonated caused the foaming I get that part, and that's why my beer is now flat. but why didn't it help with the clarity? I'm confused on that.

There's a bond that gelatin makes with suspended particles. That bond makes the glop sink to bottom faster. That's the idea. Do it in the fermentor and leave it behind when you keg.
