im putting together my LP plumbing as we speak. I have two asco valves but have not wired them to my control panel. Can i still do a test run without the asco valves hooked up or will it not allow gas to get through?

cheers

yeah thats what i thought. i'll just temporarily use straight piping for a test run.

thanks.

so i put together one burner and closed off every other orifice. i omitted the asco valve just to see how this thing would work since i have yet to hook up my control panel.

it works, but i think something may be off. i have a 0-60 psi adjustable regulator and the adjustor doesnt seem to do anything. i open up the propane 1/8" of turn and its kicking, i open it up another 1/8" and it's like rocket jets flying. something must be wrong if i open up the propane valve 1/4" max and also that while it's open 1/8" the adjuster doesn't have any affect on the flame.

thoughts?

Could be the 0-60 reg. Maybe it's not able to give you the fine control at low pressure levels. A 0-20 or 0-30 probably would've been fine.

i'd be willing to bet thats the case too. i'll shop for a 0-20 and see if it makes a difference. wonder if homedeopt or lowes carries them
