Here's a long shot. I'm planning my second ever visit to the Ardennes and Fantome in the end of April 2017. Would you happen to be visiting then? The last time myself and codasnap52 went, Dany was too busy to hang out, but we had a spectacular time with his wife.

Also, congrats on the success of Spon and its release!

Thanks! Maybe I'll meet you over there. I owe danyP a visit.

We were leaning towards Formerly An Interesting Lager, but Ode to Garrett has a nice ring too...

Maaaan, I wish I could make it out there for the release. My travel schedule this year has been nutzo, but expect a visit from me in the not so distant future. And holy ****-limes, I could die happy if there existed a Mexican lager named "Ode to Garrett".

Miss you guys tons,

Garrett

Has anyone ever mentioned how much you resemble Townes Van Zandt ElkSherpa ?

Please tell me you like his music.

Of course I like his music! We had some chickens out here a while back named Pancho and Lefty. His son lives out here and is a fly fishing guide. I'll have to see if he wants to go fishing one of these days.

Dearest friends near and far,

I announce with sadness and excitement that I have decided to leave Jester King Brewery! I put my notice in mid-November, and this Wednesday, December 21st will be my last day. I've been immensely blessed with many opportunities and friendships that I could not have imagined otherwise. Gene, Steve, Os and the crew here at talkbeer have been some of the most welcoming beer gurus I've ever met. The format they've established has been perfect for brewer/beer lover interaction and I'm excited to keep up the dialog with all of you kind people.

I will be doing some independent consulting work in the near future for breweries looking to further their practices with mixed culture fermentation. Furthermore, I will be opening a brewery of my own, documenting the tangents and nuances of these poetic little yeast! I am beyond excited to share more about it in the upcoming year.

For inquiries, I can be reached via facebook, or at my personal email: [email protected]

Are we not drawn onward to new era?

Your pal,

Garrett

Good luck man! It's been a pleasure anytime I've had the chance to talk to you at JK. Any idea if you'll stay in Texas for your next project?

Central Pennsylvania welcomes you with open arms!

Ok, not really but id like to share some old Fantomes with you and just listen to you talk about beer if you ever happen to be in the area spreading knowledge.

Not saying you should be in Oregon.
Not at all. Not that.
But, maybe you should be in Oregon?

How do you like the transition to 5 Stones so far? I really enjoyed Shepard's Boy.

Yo!

Glad you're enjoying the beer! Working with Seth/5 Stones has been an immense blessing in this interim. I've been learning a ton about building a brewery from the ground up, and some practical production techniques that I hadn't the opportunity to practice before. Believe it or not, I had never force carbonated a beer before, nor had I brewed a "clean" pale ale. Lot's of new horizons!

Also, some news coming soon regarding the brewery we're building out in good ol' Johnson City...Stay tuned amigos/amigas.

ElkSherpa Going to be visiting the Austinish area in October, any recommendations on places for food or beer? How are those new saison projects in Cuero and Alpine coming along>
