I'm Justin, currently living in Seaford, DE. Dogfish Head isn't too far from me and helped push my partners and me into the wicked world of brewing. Unfortunatley, it's also made me thirsty just thinking about it. I have three partners that brew with me, though I'm pretty much the brewmaster. I have one primary assistant, one guy that helps out a lot but focuses mainly on his wine production, and the third... well he's mostly there for moral support and drinking beer.
We started with an extract kit from William's Brewing and then decided that it wasn't enough. We went all grain with the second batch. Ended up with a 75% brewhouse efficiency too! We've done four total batches so far and the fifth will be started Thursday or Friday. Not too bad for starting at the end of August.
I like to push the envelope a bit. The first all grain batch was a honey ale just under 9% ABV. The second is an weak American Amber, for the women. The third is a Imperial Stout, but it's still in the secondary. This batch we're starting Thursday should be a barn burner of an Imperial IPA. I'm hoping to hit 15% ABV and 120 IBU's.
Maybe I should have mentioned that since I got into brewing I've turned myself into a beer geek. Nothing has turned out bad yet and I've only had one mishap. I really don't mind the smell of my Stout in the dining room anyway.
Anyway, I've read a lot of the forums here and decided to join in the fun.
