Hello everybody. Have had the itch for a while but had some extra money in a paypal account so going to order all my stuff within the next day or so.

Currently engaged with a baby on the way (little boy, due in Jan). Work as a Police Officer about an hour south of Toledo. One of my fellow co workers brewed his own wife and saw how easy it was for him to do, not much of a wine drinker but was still good.

Hopefully I can get plenty of knowledge from this website. Thanks alot everybody.

Does this appear to be a good kit?

That is the same one I started with, except that mine had to carboys. But all you need is one.

You will still need to buy a pot to boil in the bigger the better. You could do a 4 gallon pot with extract brewing. I would go for at least 7 gallons.

Also you will need bottles, unless you decide to keg. Then you will need priming sugar for bottling, and of course a recipe kit. So here is a list of what you need still, that I can think of right now.

boiling pot
bottles
extract recipe kit
priming sugar
muslin bag(if recipe kit doesn't include it)
StarSan/Iodophor
Maybe a wort chiller/could just use ice

Also, I do not recommend brewing your wife, some off flavors may result.

There is a good brewing store by my parents house in Cleveland so if need another Carboys I can get one there. Just making sure I am starting it off right. Will check there store to see if I can get some bottles. If not gives me an excuse to start drinking some beer this weekend. Thanks alot for all your help.
