Just wondering, I have a blue moon clone that I'm currently conditioning in bottles. I bottled after 3 weeks in the primary and I recently built a kegerator and purchased all necessary items to get the ball rolling. I'm really anxious to try out some kegged beer, would it be possible to empty all the bottles into the keg, carb and serve, or would I be better off waiting for another batch to try??
 
Uh just brew another. Try a witbier or a fast session beer like Cream of 3 Crops. I ordered ingredients for a 10 gallon batch for like $20.
 
Better of waiting for your next batch. You run the risk of oxidizing the beer of you dump it into the keg.

SO.. now you have that excuse to brew another batch. :D
 
Okay so I have another variation of this question. I brewed up a batch about 3 weeks ago and apparently used too little corn sugar for priming (wont bore you with the details of that screw up). Anyway, after 3 weeks the beer is still almost completely flat but still taste about as good as a flat beer can taste.

So under these conditions would you recommend transferring to keg? I know I'd be risking oxidizing the beer but I figure better to take that risk and possibly have a good beer to drink than to deal with permanently flat beer.

(oh and one way or the other I was planning on waiting another couple of weeks to make sure the bottles wouldn't finally carb)

I would do it but I think most people will tell you to wait a few more weeks for it to carb. Hell I would keg your blue moon clone. But I live on the dangerous side of brewing.

I have been using Munton CarbTabs and they rarely carbonate my beer (I hate them.) So when I find a flat one I pour it into a 2 liter bottle (or 20oz) and I carbonate it using The Carbonator.

The Carbonator is a cap that screws onto a 2 liter bottle and has a ball lock gas connector on it. Fill with cold liquid, connect the gas, shake, and serve.

There are a few DIY builds for variations of The Carbonator.

**EDIT**
The carbonator is great for carbonating homemade root beer and apple juice. But my favorite use is for bringing beer to your friends house. It is better than a growler because you know the carbonation is right but with a growler it can go a bit flat depending on the amount of head space you leave.
