I'm mid-boil on an India Black Ale. Grain bill is 2-row, C120 and Victory. Steeped 8oz of de-bittered black patent. Bitterred with Simcoe and flavored with Amarillo. Thinking about adding an ounce of fresh orange zest at flame-out.

Any thoughts?

WOW!!!

I would NOT.

And then.......buy a black PA, add an oz or orange zest to that one beer, sip it.

Maybe add to secondary if you like it.

5 gallons is a lot of "Meh, it's drinkable" beer.

Make your own dried orange peel. Drying it will lock in the flavors. Toss it in the whirlpool.

Orange peel can take over if you go crazy with it.

Decided against-- threw in an oz of Amarillo at flame-out instead.

Discretion is the better part of valor. Thanks for your guidance.

Aw, I was going to say do it and add coriander and camomile for a black wit PA.
