Need a little help! So I just brewed a smash chinook ipa and when I was at our local brew house for hop week I started talking to one of the owners about brewing and long story short, he gave me a bunch of fresh equinox hops and wanted to dry hop!! What do you all think!? I know it's a new hop but was wondering if it was a good idea with the smash chinook recipe? And should I just pour them in or try to sink them? Also I vacuum sealed a put in freezer, was that a good way to store!? Thanks brewers! Hoppy Poppy

From everything I've read, this hop seems to be something like Citra's Brother From Another Mother.

Chinook and Citra is a great combo, imo. I wouldn't hesitate to dry hop your ipa with this new hop... unless of course you don't like Citra.

Try making a tea with it and see what kind of flavors you find...

Equinox is pretty interesting. Tastes like lemon pepper to me.

Equinox hops tasted great. We did a SMaSH with it and Maris Otter. Came out fantastic.

A brewery in my area (Barley Brown's) uses them in a beer they brew and they are AMAZING. If you dont know who they are look up the award winners at the GABF for the last two years...pretty good hop in my opinion :)
