A buddy of mine in my hometown runs a hops farm. I will be traveling to my hometown next month and I am thinking about picking up a few pounds of fresh hops from him and freezing them. Is this a good idea? Will the hops keep well in the freezer?

I have read of folks that have tried freezing wet hops.
I'm really not sure how well that works out.

Normally you want to dry the hops to something like 85% dry weight (so, 15% moisture content) before vac-bagging and freezing...

Cheers!

I read somewhere that you can, but make sure to use them as frozen as possible. Similar to freezing fruit, the hops can get a bit mushy
