Freezer Usage

I am about to get a chest freezer off of Craigslist. With the addition of a temperature controller would I be able to both lager beer and use it as a keezer?

Yup...Except you won't want to up the temp of your beer to ferment...You can...but you won't want to.

I haven't done much reading into lager yeasts but don't lager yeasts typically ferment in the mid 30° range?

They ferment in the 45-55F range and then lager in the mid 30's for a month or two.
