SO as I have seen through searching this seems to be a common problem. I forgot to add my oats to my mash and its been sitting in the fermenter for about 2 hours. I'm probably going to let her ride out and see what happens but just ahead of time id love to hear what you guys think it will taste like in difference

batch 3 gallons
Grandmas secret stash Northern brewer, but ingredients purchased from ritebrew
grain bill with oats 6.875 lbs
3lbs 2row
2.25lbs golden promise
.5 Flaked oats
.25 special B
.25 victory
.25 chocolate 350L
.25 roasted barley 550L
.125 Briess black 500L
60min mash at 153 BIAB 10 minute mash out 165

Safale S-04

.4OZ of Galena 13% AA added at 60 MIn

3oz dark rum soaked raisins added with 5 minutes left

5-7 days before bottling adding 1 vanilla bean and 1tsp cinnamon soaked in 3 ounces of dark rum

target was 1.065 OG but with a 81% efficiency and less boil off than I expected I hit 1.060 OG without the oats

What do you guys think the differences in taste will be?

Scott Janish has compiled peer reviewed research which indicates that in order for oats to increase the level of Beta Glucans to where they can be perceived as an alteration of (or increase in) "mouthfeel" or silkiness the concentration of oats in the grist must be at or above 18% by weight.
