Hello

I am new to brewing and finished a batch yesterday and put it in the fermenter. Today I went downstairs and noticed bubbler was filled with foam from the beer and beer was coming out of it on the lid. What does this mean and what caused it? Never seen this but then again I am new!

Thanks

That's krausen foam from the ale yeast, being top cropping. During vigorous initial fermentations, it'll do that. That's why a blow off tube rig is sued at the start of many fermentations. It allows the fermenter to blow off excess krausen & Co2. Otherwise, nothing's wrong.
