Flex Seal

Would it be ok to spray flex seal over the heating element connections for additional protection against leaks. Is it conductive?

I would use clear silicon. I've used that flex seal a few times and I wouldn't want it near my expensive brewing equipment.

I think the OP is looking to seal the outside electrical connections and not the element seal at the kettle.

Yes I was thinking of spraying inside the electrical box the wires and the nuts but not the ground

If your enclosure is properly constructed and grounded, and you are also using proper gfi power source, I don't feel spraying flex seal, or any sealant is needed, and could potentially trap water, be a future maintenance menace, potential fire hazard. Stick with standard good wiring practice IMO.

I would seal the rim of a box/lid with silicon but I would not use any spray sealant just blasted inside the box on the wiring. I don't know if it would be a fire hazard, but it would certainly make any alterations in the future a big problem. It could render the whole thing a throw away if something needed fixing rather that just replacing one part or needing something like just tightening a nut.

a can of that rebranded undercoating rubber spray costs about the same as a proper element enclosure like the hotpod from Bobby so I would go with the hotpod... (I did in fact go with them myself after messing with a DIY solution which ended up costing me an element when I had a problem and the element wiring was encased in epoxy)
