Just bought a new gallon batch from Northern Brewer, they gave me a pack of fizz drops to carbonate each bottle.

Is it necessary to sanitize the drops before putting them into the bottles? I have never used them before. The instructions don't mention sanitizing them so I'm just double checking before I drop them in.

I agree with the previous post, I don't believe you need to sanitize. I've used them a couple times without sanitizing - no issues.
I would try to not touch them with your hands though (just because I'm paranoid). Use a sanitized set of tongs or something similar.

Cheers!

Using your hands to drop in fizz drops should be fine. Just don't change the oil in your car before doing it and not wash your hands.

Thanks for the answers guys! I wore a latex glove and dropped them in!

The glove may be excessive, but I am paranoid when it comes to sanitation lol

Cheers to you all!
