Loved that episode of Tosh.0 where he filmed the audience's reaction to that video. It's... just.... so.... wrong.....

I ate extremely clean (not meat-free) for several months and broke down one day and ate a burger and fries. I remember feeling terrible from it for a couple hours.

yeah... it's weird that it doesn't seem to work the other way. like you can go from a meat-heavy diet to total vegan and probably feel just fine (if not maybe a bit hungry for a week or so until you get used to eating less calories).

Have you ever tried giving up carbonated beverages for a while? I did once. Came back to them after about 2 months and the first few were brutal. Felt like someone inflated a balloon in my chest for an hour or so.

that's not true. i spent days on the toilet when SWMBO moved in, and i went from a "if i can't cook and consume it in under 2 minutes, i'm not interested" to a well-balanced diet.

and i know why cows swallow stones and have six stomachs.

mine was all hot dogs and beer. literally. unless i was going out. you don't need to chew a hot dog much. you need to chew grass much, much longer, or it comes out still grass...plant cell walls are very difficult for our acids to break down.

Yeah, Five Guys is just okay.

We have an amazing burger place right by the Marquette U campus. It's a bit of a drive from the office, but it's a great once-in-a-while Friday treat for lunch.

Then a Five Guys moved in a couple blocks from the office and I thought I would just go there for lunch because I heard the burgers were really good. But it's nothing compared to the other place. I don't think it's bad, just nowhere near as good as the local Milwaukee place.

Totally sympathize with that one. I went on a very calorie restrictive diet and dropped down to 174 lbs. by eating a lot of vegan meals. When I first started doing it, holy god I spilled more gas than the exxon valdez. My system was woefully unprepared for a high veggie diet.

As to five guys, they're expensive. I cook better burgers at home. I do like their fries though.
