Okay here is another thanks for the all the help my first beer is complete thread. So if you are not interested, please skip.

Now with that out of the way...

I just opened my first brew after conditioning in the bottle for 3 weeks and chilling in the fridge for at least 6 hours. It is not as clear as i would like, it is not as bitter as i would like, but it taste better than anything i could buy at the store. :ban:

Thanks everyone for all the help over the past 7 weeks! the sense of community and senior members helping new brewers is amazing! heres to many more batches in the future! (i have one condition in bottles, another fermenting in primary, and brewing again tomorrow)

Thanks Yooper, it should be the first of many. I just cracked my second beer from the six pack i set in the fridge. :tank: it gets better with each one, or it could be me getting a little tipsy:D

Excellent. You realize how much trouble you're in now don't you?:ban:

Great pic BTW. Clarity looks good enough for me.

Nice looking beer! My first beer didn't last long enough in the glass for me to take a pic of it, but tomorrow it will.

I mean "trouble" in the nicest of possible terms. You've just been hooked on the most addictive hobby known to man. Welcome.

Not fair, your SWMBO has her own account.:ban: That means she already approves (for now).:mug:

You don't get to hide behind that shield anymore.;)

LOL, good catch! She completely supports my hobby  at the current rate, but now that I (or should I say we) have our first batch complete and the bug has bitten me who knows what is going to happen.

Wow... That is a gorgeous looking beer... what is it??

Thanks! it is amber ale kit from home brewers outpost but we changed the hop schedule a bit as we typically like bitter beer and IPA's. if you want to grain-bill we used let me know.

Huh,that's wild that we got to pretty much the same place by a dif path. I put together my own recipe,& just put 8 three week old bottles in the fridge for their 5 day private time. But from what I see of the very clear color through the amber German bottles,it's close to the same color. I'm hoping 3 weeks will find a nice aroma/flavor addition from the 1oz dry hop I did. Besides the 1oz late addition. I figured I'd get a pale ale with a bit more color, flavor, etc. With a bit more hop aroma/flavor,but below that of an IPA. Sorta like paulaner doppel bock, dead guy,old brown dog. That sort of style. We'll know next Friday.:mug::tank:
