Just some pictures of my first year Fuggles and EKG I thought I would share with you all. I have a Zenith growing too, which also has cones on. But couldn't be bothered taking any pictures of it. I will do that tomorrow. Fuggles is the first four. EKG the second. Next year I will be growing a cascade, too, if its one thing I like, it's free stuff. :)

Beautiful. After harvesting my 2nd year Cascades, I am not sure that the cost savings alone are worth the efforts. It is more one of those things where you're crafting something yourself and having a more intimate involvement with the product. I have four new Centennial vines, so I'll be ready for IPAs in a year or two!

Yeah, I know I won't get shed loads from them, but even one or two partially free beers will make me happy. :) I do like the whole thing of knowing where everything has come from, though. The work that's gone into it. The watching, the waiting, and the tears.

See, the only American hop plant I can get here is Cascade. To be honest, I'm not a great lover of Cascade. I would prefer one of the more orange/tropical fruit American hops, but, can't find them. I will have to do a MASSIVE scour of the tinterweb at the beginning of next year. See what I can find.

Some of the hop varieties are proprietary and are unavailable for growing. :-( Simcoe, Amarillo and Citra or the ones that come to mind.

If you can get your hands on it, share!

Well, I don't want to damn solicitors, as I work for some. But they are property, not criminal law. So that's ok. But I fully understand about the blood sucking ones and the ambulance chasing ones.

But Corporations can well and truly do one. Full of people who invent buzzwords because they are too stupid to understand words from a dictionary or thesaurus. Then I can have my Citra hops. I did dry hop with some and put it into my garden in a pile for food for my plants. Maybe something will spring up from there? :)

Wishful thinking. It would be pretty awesome, though!
