well this being my first year of growing I made the mistake of planting the hops too deep (about 5-8 inches by guesstimating) but hops seem like they can take anything.

First signs of growth:

Chinook:

They are looking good. I hope mine turn out like that. How far apart do you have them spaced?

5-8" isn't too bad...obviously they found they're way up. I looked at my 2nd year hops yesterday and the shoots are just below the soil surface...not bad for my climate.

However, there is 8-14" of snow forecasted for tomorrow :(

honestly I don't know how well the hops will do here. We don't really have much of a winter and from what I understand hops need cold freezing hours to hibernate and prepare for the next growth.

wow these things sure grow fast. Do they slow down as they use up the stored nutrients in the rhizome or by then they'll have enough leaves?

Chinook getting off to a slower start than cascade, so far 3 bines:

Cascade huge growth, 8 bines I think:

Willamette also slower, but showing good growth, 2 bines:
