I tried creating a Robust Porter today and had much success :ban: !

After sparging I was left with 10 gallons and an acceptable 75% efficiency... but... I wanted to see what would happen if I added 5 gallons to my mash tun and let it rest at 158dF until the first 10 gallons had gone into the fermenter (1.5 hours.)... What I was left with, was a beer with a s.g. of 1.040. :rockin:
Look out free beer. Normally I just through the grains away after the mash but after this little test I think I am going to start mashing longer and maybe my efficieny will go up... If not no worries i'll take another 5 gallons of session beer along with 10 gallons of heavy beer any day...

Here's my results

lets not worry about the books... its still a work in progress, I just couldn;t wait to brew before I finished the fermentation chamber.
