So last night I helped my cousin and uncle do a AG batch and it was my first time. It was awsome!!:mug: It wasn't nearly as complicated as I thought it was. When you just read the books, sometimes it's hard to grasp everything, but when you see it, it makes more sense. I might just skip extract all together and when I do my first batch this jan/feb just do AG. I'm going to HD this weekend to buy everything to make my own mash tun.

Welcome to the obsession! I started out with extract and quickly moved to all grain myself. However, I will occasionally make extract batches like Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (in recipe database) or something when I want to brew, but just don't have the time.

AG really isnt that complicated. I think people looking to go into AG should watch some videos online and see first hand how easy it really is

i am going to brew my frist all grain new years day. doing something easy just to make sure all goes well. got my mash tun all built and ready to go. just need to get some good water and i will be all set.
