Hello fellow homebrewers,

I will be brewing a cream ale this weekend and plan to use gelatin to fine it out. I have read on the topic and would like to get some feedback on how I plan to use it. First I cannot cold crash. I plan on adding the gelatin in primary after 2 weeks after everything drops and leave for another week. I ferment with a towel around my better bottle at room temp (I know thats another topic). I am wondering if anyone has done this method of fininng and the result. Normally I dont care about the clarity of the brew but, in this style why not.

Thanks,

The gelatin will help grab the yeast and pull them out at that temp. The reason for cold crashing is to form larger "globs" of proteins, aka chill haze and get them to drop out also. You won't get the chill haze doing it warm, but you will get the yeast which should help some.
