Just brewed a batch of a West Coast Pale Ale. Really excited had an awesome time doing it too. Can't wait to get my first taste. It smells delicious though. Here are some pics of everything.

did you aerate the wort after you transfered it to the fermentation vessel, i see you used a syphon to transfer usually its better to just dump it from a height it helps with the aeration but that thats easier said than done with a 5 gallon batch of beer if your on your own

Looking good man! Just brewed my first batch last weekend, Imperial IPA. Just racked it into the second carboy today. Brewing is a awesome hobby!

Yeah my buddy needed the turkey fryer to take off with the kids and I just wanted to play with the autosyphon I would have dumped it if it wasn't for me wanting to use all the new toys. I did aerate it though. Wanted to be sure I got this done right in that capacity. Getting good bubbles flowing in the air lock.

Congrats and Welcome to the Home Brewing Addiction! :mug: The hardest part is the wait to taste it, but it is so worth it. :)

the temptation is overwhelming you'll be fine in that case, one thing i can say is that the waiting is a killer what really helped me was brewing a small batch the week after i made my first batch, you forget about your first batch then your ready to bottle before you know it :)

dumping it not a good idea . the siphon is the best way . dumping it will only pour all the trub into your fermenter and you would be sorry for that one later when you went to bottle .
All you need to do is stir it harshly for two minutes or simply put the lid in and shake the crap out of it for a couple minutes . Dry yeast or at least some have enough essential minerals or whatever in them that they do not require oxygenation but I do it any way.

Put one of these on the tube for a filter . Works very well https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f85/filter-siphon-tube-leave-trub-behind-380879/

wind could blow some stuff in . Air in your home is actually far dirtier than outside but less of it blowing around and maybe less of some things that would harm beer .

Well that I the space I have to get the job done so I did what I could. Tasted the left over last bottle and it was pretty tasty. I think I will be fine.

So 2 weeks after bottling I decided to take 2 bottles out and put them in the fridge. I couldn't wait for a taste so I couldn't help myself. Let it cool for 72 hours and pulled it out. Poured them into a pair of chilled glasses and have to say they came out delicious. I know I stayed plain and simple but even the wife was impressed. She said she was iffy with the whole brewing thing but thought it was really good. She wants to help next brew day which means brewing will be occurring a lot more now. Happy this turned out so good.

I got my equipment kit from my LHBS, their beer making kit #1

http://homebrew-supplies.homebrewmart.com/mobile/beer-making-kit-1-p111.aspx

There is a link to it. I received it as a gift for my b-day. I added the auto syphon which was a great investment now slow upgrades in equipment will be coming.

Thanks to this forum and all the great info it really has helped me along.
