Hey Mates!

My first brew is about to hit the bottling stage. I am a bit concerned though. I let it ferment in my kitchen (glass fermenter) where there is a good bit of artificial light. I know this was not an ideal spot but, it was the best way to control the temp. it hasn't gotten any sunlight just artificial light.

Will this skunk the beer?

:mug:

Fluorescent light will skunk beer. However not all beers skunk as readily as others. When you open it up you will know if it got skunked or not.

Blue light is responsible for skunking. How much blue light your particular kitchen light bulbs emit is left as a study exercise for you ;-)

^ That. Blue spectrum = bad juju.

When I pull my carboys out of the ferm chamber for racking I put old tee shirts over them while I'm racking to keg...

Cheers! (obsessive behavior? yeah, probably. that's my thing ;))
