I just tried one the other day, and I thought it was pretty tame for a saison but still a decent beer. It obviously is not a prime example of a saison, but I can see what they're going for - a saison-type beer that is still approachable for the average macro drinker. Sam Adams can't really go too far out with any of their beers because they have to appeal to a wider range of people. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy or order one, but I wouldn't turn it down, either.

IMO it didn't even really taste like a saison. The reason I said "mockery" is because it has all of these impressions of what a good saison should taste like, but done in true SA fashion.

Instead of being dry with decent body it was sweet. As with most SA beers the hop character was non existent. And instead of complex layers of flavors from phenolics and esters I tasted bubblegum and spice. Which is why I said T58 was the used yeast. It had that distinct psuedo Belgian character. Also there was no decent mouthfeel to speak of. There was a head there, but I'm used to a head that is full chunky and foamy, not flat and with huge bubbles.
