Well, it's been a long time, but it's good to be back. My first home brew in over 7 years. The Utah Vintage Porter. A Rogue Mocha Porter mini mash recipe recommended by David_42 utilizing 7 year old German Pilsner LME from when I brewed in Utah.

The first of three good libations to pour from the upgraded kegerator.

Looks good! The recipe is from austinhomebrew and they did a really good job. Just for grins I compared it to Rogue's recipe: Rogue uses a couple more malts, different hops and Pacman yeast (of course), but the results, side by side, are hard to tell apart.

Thanks. I have a few Rogues set aside for a taste test this weekend. They've been hooked up to my tank at 10 PSI since Sunday afternoon. Not bad. You can see the red hose going to a stainless 4 way which provide gas to my three kegs. The Hoppy Birthday Texas Tan is tasty and SWMBO is very happy with my Apfelwein.

When SWMBO is happy, EVERYONE is happy!

congrats on a triumphant return!

Thanks! This group was very helpful in moving to All Grain. I'm going to have to brew your IPA based on what I've been reading.

With such a bull-nosed set up as that, I find it hard to believe you are not a real homebrew wizard!

With the ability to create such a wondeful looking set up and the know how to make beer one must ask the question: Where were you for 7 years?

I went from having a new yet unfinished basement in Utah all to myself to a house in Alabama with no basement and no room. From there to a house in Texas with no basement and no room, finally to another house in Texas with no basement, but room in the garage for a freezer fermenter box.

It took the neighborhood brewfest to get me back in the game and I did the easiest thing, which is my cider/Apfelwein.

This forum and the Net are a fantastic resource!
