would EKG be a good sub for this as I can't get my hands on any without going way out of my way - recipe is session 1.040 bitter with .5lb crystal, .5lb corn sugar, extract w/grains .8oz 60min, .25oz 15min., .75oz flame out? I've never used first gold any thoughts?
U.K. First Gold (New Variety) (Alpha Acids: 7.0-8.5%)
First Gold is a seedling of Whitbread Golding with the male parent having Golding on pedigree. It has a very nice flavor and an aroma similar to Goldings. This hop should work well in all phases of brewing from bittering to finishing or dry hopping. Some comments have likened it to a Goldings and Fuggle mix in characteristics.
thanks in advance
