Been all grain brewing for a few years. Just busted out my stuff after a year and a half, ten months due to deployment, and brewed up a 5 gallon kit of Williams Brewing Irish Stout. Tomorrow will be their Whiskey Barrel Stout. This weekend is most likely going to be an all grain again with some Biermuchers Cream of Three Crops. I can't even tell you how happy I am to be brewing again!

Welcome back! Nothing wrong with a good AE pipeline filler! I bottled a Cooper's English bitter AE brew 5 weeks ago, which is in the fridge now. Bottled a PM hot pepper IIPA yesterday. Building up ingredients for a PM mumme' to be done soon. So there's nothing wrong with mixing it up a bit to get those beers stacked up again! :ban:

Agreed.
I toss in an extract here and there, mostly if I want to do a double batch day I can do an all grain and an extract back to back in the same time frame. Helps fill a keg when they are low... like now.
Also do extract when someone wants to brew for the first time just to show them the process and how easy it really is. If they end up wanting to do another one I will do a 10 gallon all grain with them and maybe start an extract after the mash is done.
Options are always good.
And unlike years ago, the extract these days along with some steeping can produce a fine brew.

I forgot how easy it was! It was so nice getting out there and getting it done. I brew electric and this was simple. Pour five gallons in, bring to a boil, turn down to add extract, bring to a boil, add hope, get pump and cfc setup. Easy peasy! Think I might tackle another batch tonight!
