This weekend I have started my first attempt at brewing anything, so please excuse me if I im a bit of a No0b.
I hope to press some apples myself this summer and but thought I would try using some shop bought juice just as an experiment to get myself a bit of experience for now.
I have set up two demijons.
One with two varieties of juice, which make a combination of apple, pear and reasbery cider, and the other with just apple.
I have only used fresh squeezed juices with no preservatives, and I also added some juice which I pressed from some cooking apples into the apple only cider.
I did not add any sugar to either of the mixtures as they were both already quite sweet and I used one heaped tea spoon of wine yeast (from wilkinsons) in each cider.
It has now been brewing for about 36 hours.
The mixed fruit one has about an inch of froth on the top, and bubbles are regularly popping through the air lock thing at the top.
The apple only mix formed a bit of foam after about 18 hours, but now it has disappeared and there are no bubbles coming out
As stated above I am a complete noob, I have done a bit of reading up about brewing before starting, but im really not sure what to do, or even if this is a problem
Everything was sanitized VERY well before starting so im sure thats not what has gone wrong but I am confused and I really want this cider to some out ok.
Any help or useful information would be much appreciated.
Edit: I have realized now that I have probably put this in the wrong place, but I cant work out how to delete it or move it.
