Just brewed a Scottish ale on sat Jan 4 th. It came in at a OG of 1.090. I used my homemade counter flow wort chiller and I went from 210-212 degrees to 57 degrees in 15 min. on a 5 gal. batch. I just got the-fermentation to take hold at 64 degrees. A happy camper I am looking forward to more good beer. I will keep updates coming.

Great job! Sounds like the CFC did a nice job. Do you know how cool your chilling water was?

Love to see a pic of the CFC.

Time to start another batch!

From 210-212 degrees to 57 degrees into the fermenter

Well done. What size copper tubing? I made one that I think was 3/8" OD and had problems using it gravity fed.

I used 2.5' of 1/2" tubing connected to a 5/8" by 3/8" compression fitting to drain with at about a 1.5' drop
