I just brewed my first beer which was an IPA kit with extracts. After six and a half days in the primary I have racked it into the secondary to clear. I have a few inches of head space in my carboy...should I fill this to prevent the beer from oxidating? And if so with what...just distilled water?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you don't have to fill that head space and next time consider just leaving the beer in the primary until bottling. you are worried about oxidation and you moved your beer into a vessel full of oxygen (unless you purged it with CO2).
