A pic of my first pour! I have since bottled batch #2 and batches #3 and 4 are currently fermenting. Addictive stuff...time to do some more shopping!!

Thanks! Extract - I received an Oktoberfest kit 14 months ago and finally got around to it. I was a bit intimidated to dive in, thus the kit sat for so long. I have to say that this site has been VERY helpful in the learning process.
Transferred this one to secondary, cold-crashed and let it sit about 2 1/2 weeks after bottling. Due to the age of the kit I was a bit worried about the age of the yeast but fermentation went well. A drinkable first beer so I'm calling it a success!

For the second batch (Monk's Cowl Belgian Ale) I did not transfer to secondary and left it in primary for over 3 weeks. I also skipped the cold crash and tried Whirlfloc instead.

These first 4 batches are all 1-gallon kits (the other two are a Brown Ale and an Irish Stout); after that I believe that I'll go to 2.5 gallon batches. Fun stuff!!

Congrats!
I started out with 5 gallon batches and have now purchased some equipment to move to 10 gallons. Improving your setup is also part of the fun.
