Hello everyone! My name is Brett, I live in Bellingham, WA, and I brewed for the first time on Sunday. My wife bought me a brew kit for Father's Day and I kind of jumped in head first. Once the brew kit and the beer kit (Belgian Wit) showed up I opened everything, read the instructions, and felt pretty overwhelmed. The kit my wife ordered was a partial mash which threw me for a loop right away. Anyway, I felt like I messing something up throughout the entire brew. I'm glad to say though I think it is gonna turn out okay. I opened up my primary today to take a gravity reading and my wife and I shared a sample from the test tube.... It was great! I can't wait to bottle it and try it again in a few weeks. I spent the last few days thinking this was gonna be a throw away and I spent hours reading on how to improve my process. I gathered all the hardware to modify my kettle and also bought a cooler to turn into a mash tun. I am all in!!! Hope to meet some of you guys and gals share some ideas at some point. Happy brewing!
