I'll be bottling my first brew in a few weeks. Someone on here suggested storing a few bottles of your first brew for a long time and open them months or years later just as a memory brew. I think that's a good idea, but what's the best way to store bottles that long? Can you keep them in a closet or do they have to be refrigerated that entire time?

Don't have to refrigerated, just throw them somewhere dark that doesn't get too hot

What kind of beer is did you make (some will get better with age, some will get worse)

I also have a recommendation. They say 2-3 weeks before it's done bottle conditioning. My first batch I waited 3 weeks exactly and it worked fine. Waiting for the second batch to bottle condition was just as difficult.

My advice to new brewers is to open one bottle after five or six days. Try it. It will (usually) not taste very well. Then try it after the 3 weeks is up. After I did this it gave me a better sense of what an important factor bottle condition time is. Now, even when I have brews I'm very excited about, I don't have the urge to open them early.

Just some advice. :)
