This is my first batch of beer ever. A LME Hefewiezen kit from Northern Brewer. It went in the bottles two weeks ago today. I couldn't wait any longer. I had to open one up. It doesn't taste quite like the store bought Hefe I've tried before. Not in a bad way, just a little more taste to it than what I expected. I'm stoked though. :mug:

Wait another couple weeks and let it condition a little more. if you like what you taste now, then you will definitely be happy you waited a lil longer.

When I bottled them, I took a sample out to test the gravity. I put the sample in a glass and stuck that in the fridge overnight. When I tasted it the next day, it didn't have much of a beer taste. I asked about that on this forum. The responses I got said to wait until it carbs, that will give it more taste. They were correct. It actually tastes like something after sitting in the bottles for two weeks.

+1 on aging!

I just finished that same kit a few weeks ago. Brewed early April and Cracked one open 4 weeks later. Damn tasty and similar in color to yours. 2 more weeks did wonders on it and its even better. I put a slice of lemon in mine and enjoy it even more! Down to 20 bottles left! Huge party hit and it's the woman's favorite I've made so far.

Congrats on your first beer. Welcome to the addiction... er I mean hobby.

Since it is your first brew, go ahead and start drinking them and take notes on how the taste changes. After few batches you will figure out that there is a time when the taste takes a big chnage dor the better.

I remember my first brew. I waited a little over two weeks. Tasted one and thought it was pretty good but slightly thin. I was amazed that another week in the bottle and the flavor really came together and it was a good brew.

enjoy
