Well been 7 days in the bottle for an extract hefe I brewed. Not bad flavor... but little head. I did pour carefully though.. but since it's a hefe maybe I should have poured more aggressively. I used fizz drops that came with kit... 1 per 12-16oz. This bottle is 16... and I think that maybe 1 drop not enough. Try another in a week. Totally drinkable, so can't complain. Bread and banana notes.

One week is really short for bottle carbonating. The common refrain is the last bottle you drink is the best. At two weeks they should be decent, at three weeks you should get an idea for what the rest will be like.

Yep for some reason I thought it had been 2 already. So yes... hope it improves. I will wait another 2 weeks.

Congrats! My experience with fizz drops is that they often carbonate a bit slower than sugar. Nothing crazy, and could very well be my imagination, but drops seemed to need extra time

Hah, you’ll do alright. It’s not as complicated as it seems, but it can be made complicated. There’s a wealth of knowledge and information out there, and the forum here is a good resource.

Brewing is a lot of trial, error, and learning.

I have found the same thing. I was convinced they didn't actually Work with the first few bottled beers I did. Then I came back to the bottles a couple weeks later and the beers were perfect and I just realized it was a slowwwwww carb. I keep to kegs for beer I am impatient to try now and only bottle what I don't mind stashing away for a bit.
