Hey folks. I am new to the forum and new to brewing all together. I started my first beer (Red Ale by Brewers Best) a little over a week ago. I got a good OG reading and moved to primary fermentation. This is where I got confused, as I did not see an overwhelming amount of bubbles coming through air lock at ALL. I got my FG trading 2 days ago and it was exactly where it should be (even though I saw next to no bubbling). Is this normal? I moved onto my carboy for secondary fermenting, but am a little worried. Any advise? Is there a chance this will turn out ok??

Yes, it will turn out ok if you had your FG where it should be. Let it sit in secondary for two weeks before moving to your bottling bucket and bottling.....

Then let it sit for another two weeks in the bottle.... :)

airlock activity isn't indicative of fermentation. I am assuming you were using a bucket? sometimes the seals are bad on those and it's venting out the sides. i used a bucket and had the same issue.

I have 3 fermenter buckets. One always bubbles, one bubbles sometimes, and the third never bubbles but they all make good beer.

Very cool. I appreciate all the feedback. I was using a bucket and this all makes perfect sense..

You did good by trusting your hydrometer. You're already onto a good start. :rockin: What were your OG/FG readings and temps where you are fermenting?

OG was 1.043 and FG was 1.011. It is about 67 degrees and dark where I am fermenting.

I didn't taste the sample, was not sure if you could or not. This was a dry yeast in the brewers best kit.
