So I'm ready to crack open a beer from my first batch of BB amber ale. I remember hearing that I should place one in the frig for 1 or 2 days before opening. Is this right?

Wanted to try one tonight but I forgot to put it in frig. Mug

You can try it warm. I do it all the time. Just keep in mind tastes will differ some between warm and chilled.

Go ahead and try it. A few days in the fridge noticeably improves a bottle conditioned homebrew, in my very limited experience. It helps everything settle out and you end up with clearer, less yeasty flavored beer.

Ok I will. although I started drinking my glbc dortmunders so I'm starting to pass out(I work 3rd shift by the way so I haven't slept). Cheers
