to make it short made my first batch forgot to strain before carboy fermantation. Went to bed with signs of life. Woke up next morning with about 1-1/2 gallon on ceiling, cabinets, phone, floor. Lesson learned. My ? is can i use the rest of left over brew?

You have to allow the CO2 to get out of the fermenter somehow.

It won't matter that much if you strain your wort, as long as you can be patient enough to let all the stuff settle to the bottom of the carboy before you transfer and bottle.

For sure try to salvage what you can. It's probably still good, as long as you don't use the stuff that actually blew out of your carboy.

And, don't be afraid to practice making complete sentences here. Brewing is a little technical, and being clear about your situation will make your questions easier to answer.

My 5th batch was the first one I have ever strained. You should really think about using a blow off tube since you have experienced what a mess looks like!
And YES I would use whatever is left.

Dumping out a beer will always make it a failure. Salvaging it has been known to yield some impressive results. Pull out any floating objects, pop the top on, and let it sit until the time is ready. You will know if there are infections.

i have a friend that decided he was going to start making wine. His 2nd batch he was siphoning from primary to secondary in his bathtub. Something went awry and ended up dumping half the batch into the tub, he depressed the stopper and just siphoned it back into the carboy. Soap scum, dog hair, human hair, what have you and all. I wasn't there at the time, or I would have stopped this. I don't think he even knows that I know about it. Anyway, he dropped off a bottle of said wine one day. That went straight to the trash.
