Wow, I am jazzed.
I just transferred batch 6001 to secondary and took a grav reading.
1.013 after compensating for being slightly warm. That is down from 1.065 after a short lived but fairly vigorous activity during day 2-3 and not much else.
Haven't yet calc'd aprox ABV but it tastes a bit strong.
Just winged it on the recipe 15lb of 2 row and .6lb of choc malt.
Color is that of a medium porter or dark brown ale and of the cuff I'd say the hop sched tastes about right.
What a great hobby.
And I get to DRINK IT ! !

Thanks for all the bits of advice along the way here.:mug:

On the last kit I brewed from Morebeer they stated that you can figure your ABV by subtracting FG from OG and multiply 131. Using that calc I get ABV of 6.8. Thats nice and strong.

Yeah, it tastes like 6-7 but flat and warm so...
Thanks.

Heh, I'm not that far yet, but I will be around Monday with my porter ;) I hope that all goes well, and I will be nice and toasty after eight weeks of not drinking.
