I just want to give a thanks to all that post here. I read a lot, problems others have, what to look for, solutions provided.

Took a recipe for amber ale, put it in beersmith, followed what I have read here and it went so smoothly I'm scared.

Primed my mash with 170 degree water and my mash was 152 - 154 the entire time.

I missed my expected gravity by .001 I had a 1.052 with an expected 1.053. Efficiency 70.3.

I was way more organized and had a much better game plan. You guys rock!

Excellent.

I've also picked up a load of good info here. My only regret is not checking out HBT before starting to brew.

I learn more from reading other peoples troubles. Incident start reading until my first brew day was haphazardly. It was night and day.
