After a lot of prepping, I did my first all grain brew, today. I feel good about it. It is an American Pale Ale, from a recipe that I made, myself, on BeerAlchemy. It is a pretty simple recipe. I came within 1 degree of my mash temps on strike, and within 1 point of my OG. So, I am happy! I am looking forward to more great brews, in the future. Mike

Congrats! I made the jump from Extract to all-grain this week as well. Mine also went fantastic (bang on with Mash temps and one point low on OG). I have high hopes!

I just went with a simple bitter I got out of Palmer's book. Nailed my mash temp at 152, lost less than a degree in a 60 minute mash, and ended up a single point low on OG. I was pretty jacked.

I haven't been this stoked on a brew in a long time.

Nice man. I felt similarly with my first all grain which was a Founder's Bkfst Stout clone. Enjoy

Congrats, I remember the feeling. It was like I had truly made beer for the first time even though I had several extract batches under my belt. Something about going from the grain to the glass just gives you that extra pride.

Mine is bubbling away. Am very excited about this brew. Thanks for the support, all!

@ estoppel, Sounds like a great brew! Let me know how it turns out.

Mike

Will let you know my friend. I have a few dozen extract brews under my belt, but I tend to agree that this is the first beer that has truly felt as though it were my own.
