After brewing seven batches of extract since May I brewed my first all grain today Deschutes Jubelale Clone, with an OG of 1.084 I hit all the numbers dead on with a brew efficiency of 77.9%! Started at 8:30AM and finished at 1:30 PM. One of the most enjoyable five hours I have spent in a while!!
I can't wait until this batch is ready!!:rockin:

Yes it is awesome, I don't think I will be going back to brewing extract, and i haven't even tasted the finshed product yet!!

I haven't been back to extract - despite some AG sessions taking too long and thinking about how good the days of a quick boil & add extract were....

I clearly remember my first AG - I tasted the wort before the boil and thought "holy **** - I just made my own extract!" hahaha

That's funny I did the same thing today, the wort tasted pretty good. Supposed to be an 8.0 ABV beer!!

I did a stovetop brew in a bag and had to taste as the mashing went along just to see the difference between milled grain in water to having a sweet wort. I wasn't ready to believe that I had the temperature right for the enzyme to change the starch to sugar until I tasted the sweetness.
