Hi all
Added Finings to my Apricot wine followings the instructions carefully. It's been just over 2 weeks now and it's not really much clearer.
Am I ok to add another lot of Finings? Either now or in a couple of weeks? Or is there another reason for it not clearing?

I think it would depend on what the finings were and when they were added. My only experience with multiple finings are in the WE kits. They start off with bentonite in the primary and add another later (chitin?).

In looking at my notes for the last time I made apricot. I used bentonite after I saw no progress in clearing after 2 weeks (SG = 0.0). I had plenty of pectase in the primary, so I was pretty sure it was not a pectin haze. I should say I rarely use any finings so it must have looked hopeless. Then with the bentonite it still took over a month more to clear.

The upside is that with a little back sweetening, it was awesome. After about 6 months in the carboy, and a few more months in the bottle, it reminded me of a good riesling. Patience rewarded.
