Brewed some Northern Brewer's Bourbon Barrel Porter... Just got done racking to the secondary, OG was 1.068 and finish at 1.020... The FG seems a little high yet, is this normal range for this kit??? Am I still ok?? Thanks

1.017 is what I would expect. Did you take two readings of FG and get the same or just one, it may still get a few more points out of it.

General advice is don't rack until finished, but my experience is that you can loose a couple of points in secondary. I generally do 2 week primary and 6+weeks secondary.

That's why I do 2 wks in the primary, everything should be done in that time frame...

I tried this recipe (2 gallon). I might have rushed it. But I followed the directions being a novice. Didn't take a hydrometer reading. When I checked a bottle after two weeks it was flat (no carbonation). Likely my mistake somewhere, but I wondered of those fizz drops were just not effective and I should have used a priming sugar solution.
