Hello all,

I am currently in the fermentation stage of my very first batch of beer. It is a Weizen so I was told to keep the fermentation temp between 64-72 degrees. For the first 5 days, I had my fermenting bucket hooked up to an STC-1000 temp controller and a heat pack and kept it at 67-68 (20 degrees celsius). However, on the 5th day my temp controller malfunctioned and heated my beer up to 80 degrees for a few hours while I wasn't home (the airlock started bubbling again). I came back and immediately fixed the problem and now have my beer back at 68 degrees. Should I be worried about my beer? I'm really hoping that this late into fermenting it won't make a huge difference but I have no idea. I was very careful and precise with every other step I took. I would hate for my batch to be ruined all because of a mechanical issue.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't sweat it too much. The fact that it happened on day 5, and not day 1, makes all the difference in the world in how this plays out. While this situation is obviously not ideal, I'd wager your beer will still taste good.

Hello all,
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

(Plugging in Les Paul and turning Marshall up to 11...that's ELEVEN)

Wrrrrrrwwwrrrrrrwrrrrr.....errrrr.....errrrrrr....click...click

Seriously though, welcome. These guys have more accurate info and advice than I know what to do with. And I am a long time "brewer".

I hope that you enjoyed my feedback

Thank you. I know that there are a lot of great homebrewers out there and it never hurts to get advice from someone with experience.
