I've had an amber ale in my primary fermenter for 10 days. The airlock is still slowly releasing CO2. The directions that came with the Brewer's Best kit say the beer should be finished fermenting in 4-6 days. Fermentation began about 18 hours after being sealed in the bucket. Is this longer fermentation anything to worry about?

Obviously your yeast failed to read the instructions.

The airlock is not a fermentation gauge, anyway. Only your hydrometer can tell you.

In all seriousness, give it three weeks before you think about bottling. Check your gravity two days apart to make sure it's not still dropping (although after three weeks, you're probably done). Then bottle.

1+ on the 3 weeks. the beer you use to check the SG. with drink it or pour it out don't put it back in the fermenter.
