I started a brew yesterday and I am a bit surprised to see that, according to my BrewBrain Float, gravity is increasing.
As the fermentation seemed to be slow (listening to the airlock) I swirled the wort a bit (peak on the curve) and raised the temperature by one degree Celcius. The fermentation accelerated but the gravity is still increasing.
Can somebody explain me what is happening ?

While I am not personally intimate with the Float, From a quick look at the product it seems to be similar to the Tilt which I am familiar with. Especially in the beginning stages of fermentation when there is a ton of krausen devices like this are not 100% accurate since the float on top which more than likely has a thick layer of foam on it. Another possibility isthat it could be hitting the wall of your fermentor. If that's the case a quick jostle might also help.

All joking aside, I would recalibrate the device after your beer is packaged and you can retrieve it. You'll be judging completion by eye or more traditional means on this batch, I guess. I use a Tilt and am not familiar with BrewBrain but I assume it operates the same way. I will look them up. Bonne chance!
