I have a side by side refrigerator in my garage doing nothing. I'm assuming I could you the use the one side as fermenting chamber with a STC-1000 controller. Could I use a tiny ceramic heater inside?

I use a lightbulb and a clamp lamp. Have no problem getting to 70f that way. And seems safer than an unattended heater, probably made in China. I know people that use reptile heating mats also.

Or a reptile heater, the ceramic disc that screws into a light socket. Emits no light, small wattage.

I use this FlexWatt , you can either wrap your individual fermenters or use it on the walls of your enclosure. It is 20W per foot and easy to DIY.
